About Ayrshire OnlineAyrshire Online was first launched on 28th March 2000 by local IT company, OceanWeb Systems, to promote the online community in Ayrshire. It is a dynamic website which is based on a regularly updated database and uses the latest techology such as Flash. Ayrshire Online was designed to give local companies the opportunity to promote their business, free of charge, in a portal dedicated to the local area. It is also an aim of Ayrshire Online to promote tourism in the area and includes an accomodation section which anyone who offers this service can add an entry. This service is also free. We decided at an early stage that in order to bring the Ayrshire Online community together under one dynamic website we would not charge the business community to add an entry to our expanding database. This policy has worked well for Ayrshire Online as our database is continually being added to and we shall not be charging for this service. Since this portal is aimed at the Ayrshire community, we would like to
