Ayrshire is easily accessible for overseas visitors with it's own international airport at Prestwick. Glasgow Prestwick International airport is situated in the heart of Ayrshire with excellent road and rail links. The airport accomodates frequent flights from a number of national and international destinations.

You can visit the islands of Arran and Cumbrae by ferry from Ardrossan and Largs respectively. The ferries are run by Caledonian MacBrayne and timetables are available from their website.

The Stena Seacat to and from Belfast runs from Troon regularly throughout the year.

To travel about Ayrshire you can use the excellent rail infrastructure run by Scotrail, travel by car or use the frequent bus services that cover the length and breadth of Ayrshire.

If you require to drive when in Ayrshire, overseas visitors should remember that you drive on the left on British roads.
